There are so many things that need to get done or happen prior to shipping that impact the entire plan and guide the end results.
The order, production, routing, booking, docs, and container loading have already shaped the shipment. Mistakes made then and someone pays later.
We call this Global Logistics Orchestration. Or “Origin Management” or ITMS or even global control towers it’s about planning and managing the journey from before starting to the final finish.
Let’s start with the purchase order. Who owns it? When must the goods be ready? Which routing fits the delivery requirements? Who books the freight, checks the documents, and confirms the container actually sailed?

Origin management grew because shippers needed those connections. Following a container eventually became following the order, the paperwork, and every handoff through final delivery.
You can start elsewhere and build a useful solution. But build toward the beginning. Waiting for a destination exception means you may be dealing with a problem that was avoidable weeks earlier.
One container touches suppliers, forwarders, carriers, brokers, terminals, hauliers, and warehouses. Some move cargo. Others move documents and data. A missing release can stop delivery effectively as a missing truck.

We call this control but being realistic no one commands all of these players. You can set expectations, see missed milestones, assign action, and escalate before the damage grows. Or you can at least warn those downstream that their expectations on products arriving and being available need to change.
This gives supply planning better arrival information. Customer service gets warnings. Warehouses can prepare expedited delivery and unloading then make inventory available sooner.

WOWL connects partners and their data, with an operating team to follow the process from order through delivery. Your business still owns its priorities and decisions.
The foundation needs clear responsibilities, agreed milestones, reliable data, and people who act. Automating a confused process spreads confusion faster.
Begin at the beginning.
